Whitsundays Ratepayers Association takes a stand

At least two members of an association in the Whitsundays - that's growing at an alarming rate - will stand not only for council, but against the mayor himself at the council election next year.
Whitsundays Ratepayers Association's membership has jumped from 180 to nearly 300 in the past month, with the president this week applying for corporation status with the government.
After drafting a constitution, which has the approval of the majority of members, president Adrian Abrahams will apply to the commonwealth government this week to legitimise the thriving group.
